WIP Wednesday - Summer Top

Lars and I spent most of the weekend catching up on TV-shows, so I've had time for a lot of knitting :) With no further ado, my WIP Wednesday photos:

I don't know what it is with my camera and colours! It's much greener IRL.

A close-up of the details.

I had to switch from my bamboo needles to simple plastic ones. I generally prefer to knit with bamboo needles, but they simply weren't pointy enough to handle the k2tog with any kind of ease. This is MUCH better.

I'm loving the way it's turning out :) Well... not too impressed with the way it keeps curling up, but I'm hoping blocking will help with that once I've finished.

  1. It looks really pretty, and like it could be fun to knit. I use to use plastic needles too, but I kept breaking them because I knit so tight.

    1. It's lots of fun to knit fortunately :) Easy enough for me to be able to memorize the pattern, while complicated enough to keep me interested :)

  2. Pointy needles are definitely your friend for that sort of knitting. It's lovely! What is it? ;)

    1. Eventually it'll end up being a summer top :) I've tried looking for pictures online, but unfortunately haven't been able to find one.

  3. So pretty!! I really like metal needles, but they drive my husband crazy with the click click click. I have enjoyed bamboo in the past but I always end up breaking them!!

  4. It's very cute. If it's straight stockinette then I think it'll roll no matter what you do!

    1. Yeah, I'm thinking I may need to add a border... I'll wait until I've finished though, and see how it looks when it's actually on me rather than on the needles.

  5. If you want the bottom bit not to roll, start with a few rows of garter stitch otherwise as MMOW said, it will always roll up a bit.

But regardless of the roll - this looks great already and I look forward to see it grow over the coming Wednesdays :)

    1. Yeah, I realize that now, but have come to far for me to feel like frogging it and starting over. I may add a border after I've finished though - it all depends on how it looks once it's off the needles and on me.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to seeing how it grows too! :)

  7. Pretty! Is the bottom just stockinette? It will always be a bit rolly if it is - you could pick up and crochet a bottom to flatten it out... that can look cool :)

    1. Yeah, I've been thinking I might do something like that... need to learn how to crochet first though! :)
